February 8, 2024

Jacob & Co. is Watchmaking's House of Dragons. For the past seven years, Jacob & Co. has been releasing dragon-themed high watchmaking timepieces without interruption. In 2024, as a tribute to the Year of The Wooden Dragon in the Chinese Traditional Calendar, Jacob & Co. creates a new unique piece stating its constant dedication to the magnificent creature. In The Mystery Tourbillon Twin Dragons, the great lizard is majestic, the craft, above the cut and the exclusivity, absolute.

2024 is the Year of the Dragon and Jacob & Co. celebrates the occasion with a fireworks of dedicated timepieces. Dragon-themed timepieces are a pillar of the novelties created, crafted and offered by Jacob & Co. Some wake up to the fact the Chinese New Year of the Wooden Dragon is a special year. To Jacob & Co., it is a year to be even more creative. An opportunity to push the envelope on a subject the brand ceaselessly engages, beginning with The Mystery Tourbillon Twin Dragons.

The Eternal Chase

The Mystery Tourbillon Coiled Dragon is the ultimate combination of high watchmaking and Métiers d'Art. With a world-exclusive movement, the only flying, central, twin, triple-axis, back-to-back tourbillon, this one-off piece houses a pair of miniature dragon sculptures. Coiled around the large tourbillon sphere and around each other, their bodies are crafted from rose gold and entirely lacquered by hand. Both fly among stylized clouds, with their heads perpetually chasing a Pearl of Wisdom. The two pearls are a pair of large Jacob-cut, 288-facet white diamonds. One acts as the hours hand, the other as the minutes hand. The 50-mm rose gold case is invisibly-set with 192 white hexagon-cut diamonds (12 ct.)

Creature craft

Jacob & Co. has created a collection dedicated to unique pieces incorporating high craftsmanship dragon figurines. In the past seven years, Jacob & Co. has crafted over 41 Astronomia Art pieces where a dragon steals the show. Each one of them is a finely crafted, highly elaborate Métiers d'Art unique piece. Their bottom price is over 3,500,000 USD, while several enter 7-figure territory. Miniature rose gold sculptures, hand-cast, -finished and -painted, inhabit the Astronomia case. Highlighted by its large panes of sapphire crystal, the dragons' bodies are intertwined with the Astronomia movement. All of these pieces, such as Astronomia Art White Dragon, Astronomia Art Red Dragon Baguette or Astronomia Art Black Dragon, are crafted with the utmost level of exclusivity in mind. The combination of high watchmaking, high crafts, high jewelry and the most noble of creatures puts the Astronomia Dragon collection in a class of its own, making Jacob & Co. the House of Dragons.
