Jumping Hour And Retrograde Minute Displays

The jumping hours display not only assists legibility by holding onto the actual hour's index throughout its entire length, but it also exemplifies the technical refinement that defines every part of the Palatial Flying Tourbillon Jumping Hours. The jumping hours complication requires highly precise engineering and utmost expertise in its final fine-tuning to ensure an accurate jump that takes place precisely at the end of the hour.

Rendering the Palatial Flying Tourbillon Jumping Hours exceptionally rare is the jumping hour display's combination with a retrograde minutes. The retrograde indication means that at the end of the hour the hand quickly reverts back to the zero position and begins its march up the arc yet once again. Synchronizing the jumping hour indication's advancement and the retrograde minutes' return require the painstaking fine-tuning of their delicate details through cutting-edge engineering and watchmaking experience.

Flying Tourbillon

Whereas the tourbillon was originally invented to be a single-axis, rotating cage secured from above as well as below to carry the regulating organ of a mechanical pocket watch for improved timekeeping performance, the Palatial Flying Tourbillon Jumping Hours presents this 224-year-old invention in a yet more spectacular way.

The one-minute flying tourbillon of this Palatial model features a delicately decorated cage that encapsulates the balance wheel, hairspring, escape wheel and a number of other crucially important components. This openworked cage not only features elaborate, handcrafted decorations, but is only secured from underneath, allowing for an unobstructed and full view at the ultimate refinement of its detailing and operation. It is a constellation of superbly finished components that, when assembled and fine-tuned expertly, allows the 251-component JCBM02 caliber to keep accurate time throughout its exceptionally long, 100-hour power reserve.

Case & Crystal

The case of the Palatial Flying Tourbillon Jumping Hours measures 43 millimeters in diameter and just 12.70 millimeters thick between the top of its anti-reflective sapphire crystal and the lowest point of its case. Its case is crafted from 18K Rose Gold or Grade 5 Titanium and is finished with a combination of circular satinated, polished gadroon and high polished surface treatments, all executed to the highest possible standard.

Dial & Hands

The Palatial Flying Tourbillon Jumping Hours is further characterized by the vivid colors and mysterious translucency of its dials. Available with semi-transparent blue, red or green mineral crystal dials, it curiously reveals the exceptionally finished dial-side components of its jumping hour and retrograde minute complications, allowing for a closer look and appreciation of their functioning at the end of every hour, as well as when setting the time. Hours are indicated by a 12-hour disc, while the minutes are determined by an elaborately skeletonized hand.
